Here is the update.
Amtrak passengers stuck in New London
As if dealing with a hurricane on a holiday weekend wasn't enough of a travel headache.
Now this.
More than 100 Amtrak passengers were stranded in New London Friday after rail service was suspended because of a tree that fell on electrical wires along the tracks near Millstone Power Station in Waterford around 12:30 p.m.

The Day of New London, CT updated their story to focus on the fallen tree and the passengers who were dumped in New London.

I've been watching for a Saturday update from Amtrak. Until about 10 AM this morning, they still had the Friday 2:30 PM update stating that all NYP-BOS service was cancelled. Then they changed the update time to 6 AM Saturday, but when clicking on the link, it was an older message listing Friday's cancellations in Virginia in advance of the storm. Around 12 Noon, they again put back message again that service was cancelled NYP-BOS. Keep trying, you'll eventually get it right.
As of 1 PM, the (still incorrect) service message was removed entirely, so one can deduce that full Saturday service has returned.
