What's that old saying, "All good things must come to an end?" Well, the temporary Whittier passenger shuttle service will most likely end in the next few days, as ADOT&PF are commencing blasting of the big rocks and the unstable hilllside to re-open the highway.
KTVA Anchorage
The Glacier Discovery should be starting up service within the next two weeks anyway, as the peak season gets underway. Not sure about the Denali Star, while the track is washed out near Talkeetna.

Update from the Alaska Railroad(PDF Press Release) on the Whittier Shuttle service. With partial re-opening of the access road, the train will continue between Portage and Whittier, and but starting Monday, they will be charging. Plus, it is getting close to the summer season.

The Chugach Explorer DMU is now in service , and it does look like the winter commuter rail demo will happen as well.
