In light of the fact that Boston canceled its St. Patrick's Day Parade, it is possible that the hockey game at The Garden may be canceled also, thus limiting the crowds near Boston North Station.

Neither the TD Garden nor Boston Bruins web sites have any statement regarding Coronavirus.  The NHL is monitoring the situation.

NHL monitoring coronavirus, preparing contingency plans

Commissioner Bettman says League 'focused on all possibilities' but waiting to see how situation evolves

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The NHL is monitoring the coronavirus and making contingency plans while continuing to play the regular season and prepare for the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Asked about the NHL's contingency plans, Commissioner Bettman said: "We're aware of and focused on all possibilities, but at this point it would be premature to pick any one of the possibilities, especially because it may or may not become necessary in North America, which is why we're staying current. We're staying in communication with everyone appropriate, and we'll deal with it if and when the time comes."

Commissioner Bettman declined to speculate about what the CDC or Health Canada might say in the future. He also said the impact of the coronavirus might vary by location, with local officials determining what must be done in their area.

More.

The Boston Globe, 3/12/20

NHL suspends play beginning Thursday amid coronavirus pandemic

The NHL announced Thursday that it was pausing its 2019-20 season in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

It becomes the third North America pro league to suspend games, following the NBA’s decision on Wednesday night and MLS’s announcement Thursday.

In a statement, the league said, “The NHL has been attempting to follow the mandates of health experts and local authorities, while preparing for any possible developments without taking premature or unnecessary measures.

“However, following last night’s news that an NBA player has tested positive for coronavirus – and given that our leagues share so many facilities and locker rooms and it now seems likely that some member of the NHL community would test positive at some point – it is no longer appropriate to try to continue to play games at this time.”
