Updated numbers:    7 people on #43 and #29, 9 on #7/27, and 9 (8 sleeper 1 coach) on #8/28.

You should all be happy to know that as if tonight I can finally get home from the Fest. I was figuratively stranded in Springfield, IL waiting for some external bonus points to post, and they finally did after a couple of phone calls.  Tonight I completed the intended program.  For my train and hotel plans for the post-Fest period will be as follows:

 

Tuesday 7/21 CHI-SPI on Lincoln Service on Amtrak #305

Stay that night in Springfield  (round Hilton)

 

Wednesday 7/22 SPI-STL on Lincoln Service on Amtrak  #301

Ride light rail lines, especially Blue Line to Shrewsbury

Wednesday 7/22 STL-SPI on Lincoln Service on Amtrak #306

Stay that night in Spingfield (Abraham Lincoln) Doubletree

 

Thursday 7/23 SPI-CHI on Texas Eagle #22 sleeper

(If 22 comes in on time, then potentially a Metra or Amtrak round trip for the afternoon)

Thursday 7/23 CHI-NYP on Lake Shore Ltd, #48 sleeper

 

Friday 7/24 Arrive NYP on #48.   Amtrak or NJT NYP-NWK that evening

Stay that night in Newark Hilton

 

Saturday 7/25  NWK-PHL on Regional #153. Then NJT Atlantic City train PHL-Cherry Hill.

• The latest arrival was 8:55pm on April 22 – 50 minutes late.

Scheduled departure PGH is 11:59pm

• The 50th percentile departure time was 12:15am – 16 minutes late.
• The 95th percentile departure time was 1:22am – 1 hour, 23 minutes late.
• The latest departures were at 2:00am on March 24 and 25 (actual departure next morning) – 2 hours, 1 minute late.

Right now we have 7 on #29 (possibly 9 west of South Bend), 11 on #7/27 (3 in Portland section, 8 in Seattle section), and 12 on #8/28 (4 in Portland section, 7 in Seattle section, 1 in coach).

So how many are boarding the Pennsy from NYP? How many downline. I will be boarding at NYP though I am overnighting at Newark Airport at the Hilton.

I traditionally start & end my summer  Fest journeys through Cherry Hill and Philadelphia, so I'm boarding at PHL.
