I'm posting a mid-May update of the problem train - the Crescent. New Orleans arrivals are still pretty bad. I'm not feeling good about this one.

Luckily no immediate connections being made from this train. Consistently late.

Amtrak train data for May. With the exception of The Crescent into New Orleans, not too bad.

Thanks again, Bill!
#22 into Chicago is not too pretty either -- only 2 arrivals all month were "in the green". This may be the biggest concern of all, for those with same day connections through Chicago to other trains. All the other train segments, if late we can still live with them.

I always enjoy these charts by Bill. I always have mixed feelings too. Late arrivals mean more train time which is good, but too late means missed connections which is not good. After last year, Kevin, you deserve some good luck. I think yoou used up all the bad Karma last year trying to get to Kansas City.

Steve, I had said "never again" with regards to same-day connections through Chicago. Then in planning my travel activities, I went and did it anyway. At least it's after the Fest activities, and I have a couple of ways out to still maintain the majority of my plans.

I have a same day connection through Chicago this trip, but am compensating for that by a one day layover in Washington DC. Although, truth be told, if we misconnect in Chicago, I might still bail and fly to Washington DC. So hoping that we don't misconnect. Looks like the TE misconnected with the Cap only twice (or was it three times?) in May.

Twice: May 1 (missed by 1 hour) and May 28 (missed by 28 minutes).
