Although still expensive, hotel in St. Albans near the station is a little cheaper on weekdays than it is on a Saturday night. A one-time hit might be OK as opposed to staying multiple nights in Boston. So that is still on the table, but it can be done any time of the week given it's summer. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday look like they cost less than the weekend.

I could work in a ride in the Crescent from New Orleans. Then catch the Vermonter the same day the group is riding to St Albanys.

If we did Vermonter it would most likely be a "rolling meet" type of thing, where people board where most convenient along the NEC. Train starts in Washington, DC and functions as a corridor train in its timeslot between there and New Haven (despite the small BC car).

Yes, Vermonter has assigned seating in BC. Remember there are just 6 rows, 2 X 1 seating.

Since starting my new job, its much harder for me to get weekends off, so weekdays are easier as of now. With talk of doing Vermont would doing the new extension to of the Ethan Allen Express be possible in July?

The expected extension of the Ethan Allen Express beyond Rutland to Burlington is still set for July, although an exact date has not yet been announced. I am certainly game for riding this extension as well if available. Two possibilities come to mind:
1. One complete round trip on the Vermonter to St. Albans, plus one complete round trip on the Ethan Allen to Burlington. By complete round trip I mean returning in between as far south as New York City or beyond, where the routes meet.
2. Combine the two somehow, going north on one and coming south on the other. Shared ride/taxi would be needed between Essex Junction and Burlington.

I like the idea of two round trips. Hotel costs may make this an undesirable option. I would definitely be willing to facilitate using car service to get from one Essex Johnson to Burlington.
How much trackage do we miss not going to St. Albans?

Have you posted potential dates or did I miss it?
