     Robbinsdale works on Blue Line design with independent consultants, light rail staff

    Light rail route bypasses north side hub   



The most recently proposed route for Metro Transit's Blue Line Extension light rail line will bypass the main core of the West Broadway Avenue business district on the north side of Minneapolis. But the change won't make everyone happy because the design still envisions the trains running along Broadway west of the main retail hub.

    MET COUNCIL APPROVES $75M GRANT FOR BLUE LINE EXTENSION    

 

 

Despite a push by some to “pump the brakes” on funding, the Metropolitan Council approved a grant agreement that advances the Bottineau Blue Line Extension light rail project.

Early Ridership and Cost Data Indicate Blue Line Extension ‘Competitive’ for Federal Funding

 

HENNEPIN COUNTY, Minn. – Metropolitan Council has released early cost and ridership data based on 2019 and 2022 ridership survey data that indicates the Blue Line Extension is ‘competitive’ for federal funding.

 

The Metropolitan Council announced that early estimates of ridership and cost ranges for its METRO Blue Line Extension indicate it continues to be eligible for federal funding through the FTA’s New Starts program.
