I'm sitting and having my Starbucks breakfast and it occurred to me that the Midwest Rail Fest likely set a Fest record - the most crossings of the Mississippi River ever in one Fest. Lets check the numbers:

Westbound Empire Builder: 2 crossings
Westbound MSP Green Line: 1 crossing
Roundtrip Northstar: 2 crossings
Eastbound MSP Green Line: 1 crossing
Eastbound Empire Builder: 2 crossings

Eight crossings of the Mississippi on the official Fest itinerary: that has to be the most ever. In my case (breaking off at MSP) I lost the two eastbound Empire Builder crossings, but got one airport bus crossing for seven. I also walked back and forth across the river after breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings, so including those walks, my personal count is 11. In Kevin's case, with his trip out to Kansas City and back, he picked up two extra crossings for a total of 10.

Interesting stats!  You're lucky I didn't decide to ride St. Louis Metro LRT to Illinois, or there would have been 2 more crossings.
