REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY (RTA)

RTA bus service ended at 4:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 28. Streetcar service was shut down at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 27.

As of Saturday, 9/1/12, all streetcar service is still apparently out. The St. Charles line and the two Canal lines are being bustituted, while the Riverfront line is not running and does not have any alternate bus service. This comes from the current replacement NORTA homepage, which shows a list of all routes. The streetcar lines are 2 for Riverfront, 47/48 for Canal, and 12 for St. Charles.

I hope that things don't take years to restore like they did with Katrina.

New Orleans, LA Times-Picayune, 8/30/12:

Debris from Isaac continues to keep streetcar service offline, but the Regional Transit Authority has activated 16 bus routes.

As of Monday, same status as Saturday. No Riverfront Streetcar, and bustitution of St. Charles Streetcar and both branches of Canal Streetcar.
