SunRail marks 2nd anniversary with plans for growth
SunRail hasn't transformed the way people get to work in the region. At least not yet. But as Central Florida's commuter rail system marks its second anniversary, it's focusing on growing ridership and expanding south, north and east.
Since the train started paid service in May 2014, average daily ridership has stayed at about 3,600. SunRail officials had hoped to get an average of 4,300 riders a day in its first year alone.
