High water south of Franconia washing out ballast, trains cannot proceed further, buses being called. Expect 2 hour wait. Recommend alternative transportation if you can get it.

correction: 313 will pull into franconia next, 311 stuck behind Amtrak train, will have to wait for them to reverse before preceeding to Franconia

********

309 is reversing to track 1 to clear space for 311 to pull into franconia

NOTE: It appears I did not recieve the Train Talk leading to this correction.

Buses at Franconia are at Park and Ride, look for Fairfax Connector.

Because of the weather and washout, there will be no VRE service on either line tomorrow Friday, Sep 9. We apologize for the inconvenience.

This message is for all riders:

Full Service on Monday

VRE will be operating full service on Monday, September 12. We do NOT expect any significant delays, but do have some specific information for each line.

Fredericksburg Line:
CSX has been working around the clock since Thursday night on several areas of track that had been damaged by flooding. All tracks are now open; however, several temporary speed restrictions along the route are in effect. Similar to after working on the railroad as part of preventative maintenance, these slow orders will be in place until the track settles. This may take several days. Even so, we expect any delays that we experience to be minimal.
