Perhaps they see the severe date slippage taking place with another new streetcar line in the OTHER Washington on the opposite coast, and because of that they don't want to commit to a date until one can be pinned down.
Start up date not yet announced, but infrastructure work largely complete.
From Seattle Streetcar website. Testing to begin in earnest.

Disappointing delay to at least FQ15. I'm sure these delays and bad luck will be forgotten when start up actually occurs early next year. Seem to be compelling reasons the project had to go abroad for the streetcars rather then build domestically. From the Seattle Times.

If I remember right, one reason that they went with Inekon, was the potential of final assembly with Pacifica Marine. I wonder if they had gone with United Streetcar, would they have been delivered by now? Also, the Siemens product mentioned was probably the S70. Siemens has a couple of other models that they sell in Europe that are shorter, and perhaps narrower.

Very disappointing. From the Capitol Hill Blog http://www.capitolhi...h-manufacturer/
It's as if the wedding couple does not show up. Tracks in place. Stations built. Infrastructure done. But no bride and groom!

The saga continues, but maybe light at the end of the tunnel? Could the carrot and stick approach help? From the Seattle Times.
