SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2005: FAREWELL TO THE FL9s on Metro-North, GCT/Stamford - Danbury - Canaan, CT - Danbury - Stamford/GCT. [note change of route on account bad track on old Maybrook line between Danbury & Derby Jct.] Depart GCT on private section of M-N train #6510 at 8:07AM; change to excursion at Stamford; return connection Stamford-GCT. Excursion may be joined at Stamford for same fare. Coach fare: adults $75, children $40. First Class sold out. Fares include box lunch and admission to Danbury Railway Museum. Also the above ad was obviously copied from that of a previous trip. The Housatonic RR is essentially a continuation of the Waterbury Branch, whereas the Danbury Branch runs into the old Maybrook Line. So the heading above is wrong. -------------------- Kevin Korell OTOL Board Leader Howell, NJ |
