This is for our time in Pittsburgh, most of which will be experienced on Thursday, July 16th.  This includes our travels by bus, Inclines, and "T" light rail.

So far nobody has been impressed by the transit system in Pittsburgh, and we haven't even ridden it yet.  The PAT website, the ConnectCard website, and what Penny was told on more than one phone call with a PAT agent all contradict one another.  We thought we could purchase the card at the Busway station next to the Amtrak station, but the machines do not vend the card; they only allow updates to existing cards.  Therefore back to another plan to walk over to the PAT customer service center in the morning to investigate what we can purchase for our day of travel.

The six of us staying in the same hotel are in our respective rooms for Wednesday night.

Several of us walked over to the PAT customer service center this morning (Thursday) and we were able to purchase Connect Cards with value on them.  Ready to take on the system and ride the Inclines and light rail!

Our day riding the rails in Pittsburgh was a great success.   We ended up about half an hour ahead of schedule (mainly due to spending less time than expected at Duquesne Incline), but we stayed at the top of Monongahela Incline longer than expected since we decided to stop for ice cream.

We are now back at the hotel we already checked out of, and will have dinner there this evening and hang around until closer to train time.
