So now they have to get operating agreements in place with MetroLink, BNSF and UP, and possibly Amtrak, and also get the third leg of the Wye constructed at Mojave. It should be interesting to watch how this proceeds. One thing it won;t be is high speed by any stretch of imagination since the ride from LAX to Brstow itself will take something over 5 hours via Antelope Valley according to some estimates.

With XTRN's stock closing today at $0.0025 (1/4 of one cent), I'm not feeling warm and fuzzy about X Train. By the way, the last press release from XTRN was on September 9. The boasted about great ticket sales for their Santa Fe to Lamy service. The service ended with no warning three weeks later.

Hmmmm so I can get 100 shares for a quarter.....
I agree its future does not look good, which is why this news item confused me. According to Eric, who had seen equipment on the property in Las Vegas, I think he said during one of the chat sessions that the equipment was subsequently moved away from where it had been. The fact that at this stage they are changing to another route, which I think may be longer than the one originally chosen, does not bode well either.

It seems to me that XTRN was hoping to become like Iowa Pacific, but unfortunately, the apparent complete incompetence and cluelessness of their top management makes that a far cry from merely being an aspiration. Ed Ellis they are not.
They couldn't even run an operation less complex than something like the Saratoga and North Creek, and they now have and have ahd aspirations of running an LA to Las Vegas service involving three or four operating railroads and lord only knows what else, like building trackage at the Wye in Mojave and what not.
