Free shuttle bus service between Newark Liberty International

Airport's rail link and terminals will minimize impacts to travelers

Scheduled maintenance on AirTrain Newark will take place beginning at 10 p.m. tomorrow night, April 25, until 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, weather permitting. This temporary service disruption will not impact NJ Transit or Amtrak service, with the Newark Airport train station remaining open. Free shuttle buses will be available between Newark Liberty International Airport's rail link station to and from the terminals and parking lots.

During the outage, all buses will display appropriate route information on their electronic signs. Wait times will be minimized with increased bus service as needed. Additional airport Customer Care Representatives, AirTrain and other Port Authority staff will be on duty to provide enhanced information for passengers during the train suspension.

Travelers are urged to leave extra time to get to and from the airport during these hours.

I thought they do such maintenance all the time overnight (where they run the system in segments with a few cross platform transfers en route), but this one must require a total shutdown.  The shutdown tonight is for just 9 hours when the system is very lightly patronized anyway.
