Approximately 400 freight cars were water damaged during the TS Gaston flooding in Richmond, VA. The damage is reportedly mostly to the bearings, requiring wheel change out.
CSX is building hospital trains sending these cars to their shops in Hamlet, NC; Newport News, VA; Cumberland, MD; Curtis Bay (Baltimore), MD; Florence, SC; and Raceland, KY for repair.
The first train is reportedly W929 destined for Curtis Bay.
