Our final day of the fest saw the six of us riding the southbound Adirondack out of Montreal. Plenty of drama as we all had trains to connect with. US Customs messed us up at the border, and we never regained the lost time.
Mike H and Steve made their connection with the Lake Shore Limited in Schenectady, on their way to Cleveland and Chicago respectively. The rest of us arrived in New York 1 hour 41 minutes late. Amtrak reaccommodated us on other trains, since Piotr, Michael, and I missed our "guaranteed" connections on Regional 167.
Michael and I are at the Doubletree Newark Airport tonight, and still have a trip to Philly in the morning before getting to our car at Cherry Hill via NJT. Piotr took Amtrak 637 to Newark, and Jishnu caught his Midtown Direct train home after 10 PM.

And I almost got messed up too. My original rebook was for 169, which got posted seconds after you went downstairs 30 minutes late. So I went back and requested that they put me on NJT too. Instead they held 637 for me, and I made connection at NWK to NJCL. I saw the Philly misconnects on board and gave them SEPTA free ride tip. My good deed for the day. They were staying downtown.
This is train 3267, 5:43 Long Branch express with connection to Bay Head. South Amboy is next. First and last cars are Quiet Cars. All tickets please.

Far better than my 5 hours late last Tuesday.
And you weren't walking into a power failure either.
Alan,
Take care and take trains!
