Egyptian National Railways orders Talgo trains
FOLLOWING a competitive tender, Egyptian National Railways (ENR) has awarded Talgo a €158m contract to supply and maintain six 160km/h inter-city trains for the Alexandria – Cairo – Aswan corridor.
Each train will be formed of a diesel-electric locomotive, a generator car and 14 passenger coaches. The sets will seat 492 passengers across first and standard class, with spaces for passengers with reduced mobility.
