Amtrak's website reports that train 49(16) was only running 44 minutes late when it left South Bend. I guess you Windy City Railfans will be able to do your full pre-fest as planned. Have a wonderful four days on the rails, guys! I am going to be itching to read that trip report! If you can find internet access at some point over the weekend, I would love to read a small report on how the fest is going. Hope another bridge doesn't go up in flames!

Nick,
Thanks for the wishes. So far no flaming bridges, however we did have one horrific thunderstorm last night. I'm in fact wondering if we are going to encounter any train delays due to downed trees today, as the local news is reporting heavy damage to south Chicago.
You can read my mini update on our fest over here.
