MARC: Thank You for Your Patience & Understanding

MARC would like to thank all of our 18,000+ individual customers for your patience and understanding the past two and one-half weeks as we have endured an earthquake (8/23), Hurricane Irene (8/27-8/29), and record rains & flooding (9/6 – 9/9).

MARC regrets the inconvenience many of you had to face during the past 18 days. MARC continued running service every scheduled day, although safety concerns and equipment/crew shortages necessitated speed restrictions and some cancellations.

The safety of our passengers, crews, and general public will always be our primary concern. However, we also understand the degree to which many of you rely on MARC, and therefore we always strive to find a way to continue service. Some of our fellow train transportation providers were not always able to do so, and for this, we consider ourselves fortunate.

We recognize that there were some things that we could have done better, and we value your input. Communication with our passengers is an area that we are working to improve, and as our station communication equipment installation (PA system & LED screens) is completed, we believe you will see major benefits there. Several times during the past couple weeks there were instances where e-mail messages were not delivered promptly (we are told that servers were backed up) … we are looking into what we can do to prevent this from happening again.

We thank you again for your loyal patronage.

Best regards,

Your MARC Train Service Team
