Balky SunRail ticket machines might not be fixed until end of the year

 

The technology behind SunRail's ticketing system continues to vex the commuter train, and the planned fixes may not take hold until year's end.

Xerox, the SunRail fare collection vendor, is also the vendor for the new SEPTA fare payment system which is already one year behind schedule and counting. Uh oh.

Very true, Bill.  Uh oh.  SEPTA is a much more complex system than SunRail.  If they can't handle this on such a relatively simple one-line system, what will come of SEPTA, which will have to cater to passengers of trolleys, buses, trackless trolleys, heavy rail, and commuter rail on a much more far-reaching system.
