ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – An update on the Loop Trolley construction in St. Louis. Delmar will close Thursday at DeBaliviere temporarily from 6 a.m. to between noon and 2 p.m.

Loop Trolley hours of operation set, but fares still unknown

 

The Loop Trolley remains on target to open this spring, although some details — such as the fare amount — have yet to be pinned down.

 

Chris Poehler, administrator of the Loop Trolley Transportation Development District, and Les Sterman, president of the Loop Trolley Company, gave an update on the project Thursday at a Citizens for Modern Transit event.

The Loop Trolley project is still on track to begin giving rides this spring despite delays in getting some of the street cars to St. Louis.

Loop Trolley pushes back start date

The Loop Trolley Co. has pushed back the start date for its streetcar operations.

The Loop trolley is now expected to start operations this summer, as opposed to the spring as originally planned, KMOX reports. A specific start date for the streetcar operations has not been announced.

Upcoming street tests first of many for Loop Trolley's public debut

 

For the first time in more than 50 years, trolley cars – a few of them, at least – will be rolling down the streets of St. Louis. Construction on the Loop Trolley’s 2.2-mile stretch between Forest Park and University City wrapped up in November and, according to trolley officials, test runs on Delmar and DeBaliviere avenues are set to begin in the next week or so.
