Service Temporarily Disrupted Between Seattle and Portland

Due to a landslide, host railroad BNSF has implemented a 48-hour moratorium between Seattle and Portland. Alternate bus transportation will be provided. Normal operations are expected to resume Sunday afternoon.

 

Saturday, March 30, 2024

 

• Coast Starlight Train 14, which departed Los Angeles on 3/29, will terminate in Portland. Alternate bus transportation will be provided between Portland to Seattle.
• Coast Starlight Train 11, which originates in Seattle, will now originate in Portland on 3/30. Alternate bus transportation will be provided between Seattle and Portland.
• Trains 503, 500, 502, 509, 511, and 506 are canceled. Alternate bus transportation will be provided between Seattle and Portland.
• Train 517 will terminate in Seattle. Alternate bus transport will be provided between Seattle and Portland.
• Trains 505 and 507 will originate in Portland. Alternate bus transportation will be provided between Seattle and Portland.
• Train 518 will originate in Seattle. Alternate bus transportation will be provided between Portland and Seattle.
• Trains 504 and 508 will terminate in Portland. Alternate bus transportation will be provided between Portland and Seattle.

 

Sunday, March 31, 2024

 

• Coast Starlight Train 14 which is scheduled to depart Los Angeles on 3/31 will terminate in Portland. Alternate bus transportation will be provided between Portland and Seattle.
• Coast Starlight Train 11, which originates in Seattle on 3/31 will originate in Portland. Alternate bus transportation will be provided between Seattle and Portland.
• Trains 503, 500, and 502 are canceled. Alternate bus transportation will be provided between Seattle and Portland.
• Train 517 will terminate in Seattle. Alternate bus transportation will be provided between Seattle and Portland.
• Trains 505 and 507 will originate in Portland. Alternate bus transportation will be provided between Seattle and Portland.
• Train 518 will originate in Seattle. Alternate bus transportation will be provided between Portland and Seattle.
• Train 504 will terminate at Portland. Alternate bus transportation will be provided between Portland and Seattle.

 

Customers with reservations on trains that are being modified will typically be accommodated on trains with similar departure times or another day.

 

Amtrak will waive additional charges for customers looking to change their reservation during the modified schedule by calling our reservation center at 1-800-USA-RAIL.
