Not sure what I am doing but will do something. Mother's Day is the next day so it will be close to home.

A group of us (Railroading as a Hobby) are initially visiting the exhibits at Chicago Union Station, then boarding Amtrak #5 with Galesburg as our destination. After enjoying a fine dinner at the closeby "The Packinghouse" restaurant, we will return to CUS on #382 arriving at 9:53pm.

Hello John..., I wish I had known earlier you planned to go to DC.
My original plan was to check out the train exhibits in Philly, amtrak
it to DC and check out DCs train exhibits and ride the red and orange
metro lines..., but instead I decided to travel in the opposite direction
and take amtrak #160 at 7:20am to New York Penn, then the 9:40am
Long Island Rail line out to Montauk, then the 3:35pm from Montauk
back to New York Penn then amtrak #165 at 7:55 to arrive back in
Philly at 9:22pm. I hope we both have a good time on our train rides
on National Train Day.
