Long Island Rail Road Offering Extra Weekend Train Service during Holiday Season for Your Shopping, Dining, Sightseeing and Entertainment Pleasure
4 Westbound & 6 Eastbound Trains Added to Schedule for Next Six Weekends
 
 

If your plans for the holiday season includes a trip to New York City for shopping, dining, sightseeing or the theater, then MTA Long Island Rail Road has just made the trip a little easier. Beginning this Saturday and Sunday, November 28-20 and continuing through the first weekend of the New Year, the LIRR is adding four extra westbound trains and six extra eastbound trains to its regular weekend service. The trains are being added on the Long Beach, Babylon and Huntington/Port Jefferson branches.

 

Weekends November 28-29 through January 2-3

 

Westbound – Four Extra Trains

Long Beach Branch

  • 8:57 a.m., 9:57 a.m., 10:57 a.m. and 11:57 a.m. trains from Long Beach making all local stops to Jamaica then express to Penn Station.

Eastbound - Six Extra Trains

Long Beach Branch

  • 4:25 PM, 5:25 PM, 6:25 PM and 7:25 PM trains from Penn Station, stopping at Jamaica and making all local stops to Long Beach. Babylon Branch
  • 1:13 AM from Penn Station, stopping at Jamaica, Rockville Centre and then all stops to Babylon Huntington/Port Jefferson
  • 2:44 AM from Penn Station stopping at Jamaica, New Hyde Park, and then all stops to Huntington.
