Winter weather is hitting the Washington, DC area. Forecast was for light snow to the north and far west; some sleet closer in. The 'Weather Guessers" missed! The temperature has dropped and the storm has intensified. As as of 8 am we are expecting 1-2 inches for the entire area. Here's the earlier announcements from MARC and VRE:

MARC Train: Full service Thursday
MARC Train will operate full service on all three lines Thursday, November 15. MARC, Amtrak, Bombardier, and CSX management are closely monitoring the impending winter storm. The most significant impact is anticipated on the Brunswick Line in Western Montgomery County and west of Brunswick/Frederick into West Virginia. Passengers are encouraged to exercise extreme caution in these winter weather conditions.

Possible icy conditions this morning, please use caution
Crews have been out through the night pre-treating parking lots, platforms and sidewalks. Possible freezing rain is expected, especially at our southern most stations. Please use caution this morning when both driving and walking.
