And this one is disgusting anytime, but the current events make it much worse.  From WCVB-TV, Channel 5 in Boston, MA, 3/27/20:


 

  Person reportedly licks Orange Line train; MBTA removes train from service  

 

 

 

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority removed one of its Orange Line trains from service on Friday after a person reportedly licked it, according to a spokesperson.

   The suffocating crowded T of old won’t be returning anytime soon after the coronavirus lockdown ends 

 

 

 

Beijing has tested “subway by appointment” where riders book times to enter certain stations. In Taipei, Taiwan, passengers have their temperatures checked as they enter the transit system. Milan plans to close subway stations when the system gets too busy, Madrid is handing out masks to riders, Amsterdam will boost frequencies of buses and trains, and transit vehicles in Seoul are disinfected more than a dozen times a day.

  Trains keep running, but few along for the ride  

 

 

 

It was just after 7:30 a.m. on Monday at the Beverly Depot, normally prime time for commuters looking to pile into a train at one of the MBTA's busiest commuter rail stops.

   The MBTA Won't Return To Full Service Until Final Phase Of State's Reopening    

 

 

 

The MBTA will continue to run at reduced service levels, even as a range of businesses begin to reopen under new rules outlined by the Baker administration Monday.

   MBTA boss: Riders will be responsible for maintaining social distancing   

 

 

 

The MBTA’s boss says ridership will remain low as Massachusetts enters Phase 2 of reopening amid the coronavirus pandemic, but the T will leave it to riders to maintain social distancing and will not engage in active enforcement.

   MBTA returning some subway, bus transit lines to pre-COVID service  

 

 

 

The MBTA said it will increase service for all subway lines and add weekday service for nearly sixty bus routes as it works to return service to levels not seen since the start of the coronavirus outbreak.
