Hoboken Light Rail Derails With Passengers Aboard, Probe Still Underway

 

A Hudson-Bergen Light Rail train headed to Hoboken terminal partly derailed on Tuesday, a spokesman said. Officials are still investigating.

 

HOBOKEN, NJ — Regular service resumed on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail line around 2 p.m. after a minor train derailment in Hoboken station earlier Tuesday morning, NJ Transit said.

 

Agency spokesperson Jim Smith said Tuesday that at approximately 5:40 a.m., a Hudson Bergen light rail vehicle experienced a minor derailment of a single car on the viaduct leading from Jersey City into Hoboken Terminal.

 

"The vehicle remain[ed] upright," Smith said. "No injuries were reported . . .
