Very nice journey on the northbound Texas Eagle. Our train was a little delayed as it was running behind a TRE commuter train. We left Dallas 23 minutes late. Despite some other slowdowns and stops we got into St. Louis early on Friday morning. We lost time again through Illinois, pulling into Chicago about 35 minutes late.

Debra our sleeper car Attendant was attentive to us. The dining crew of Florence and LSA Latoya were very nice, except that Florence seemed a bit forgetful of what orders she had to take. Half of us had not ordered yet when the others were already eating. Once she got going was fine. Kristen the cafe car Attendant seemed to take a lot of breaks.

The biggest negative was a septic odor that would waft through our entire sleeper car every few minutes. Our attendant had reported it to her conductor before he got off in Fort Worth. Other subsequent crews were told about it, but despite some talk of doing repairs in Little Rock or St. Louis, we brought that stench right into Chicago. Each crew apparently kicked the can down the railroad to the next one. Other than the smell, this trip was quite enjoyable.
