Schedule Changes Due To CSX Heat Orders
Effective May 28 - September 2, 2024
Due to heat orders, Northeast Corridor train schedules have been modified for the summer months. Please check the Amtrak mobile app or Amtrak.com for the most up to date train status.
Heat Order Impacts
CSX, the owner and maintainer of the tracks, issues heat orders notifying Amtrak that the maximum speed of passenger trains are reduced with high temperatures and temperature fluctuations. Heat orders may cause delays of 5 – 20 minutes, and frequently occur between the months of May and August.
Departure times of Northeast Corridor trains have been adjusted to compensate for heat order delays.
