The Imperial/Wilmington/Rosa Parks station is the junction point of Metro's Blue and Green Lines. Both lines have island platforms. At that point the Blue Line runs in its own right-of-way, while the Green Line runs in the median of a freeway, which you can call a few things: I-105, Century Freeway, or the Glenn Anderson Freeway.

While a few Metro stations had names of people they chose to honor added to the station names, I understand that the Rosa Parks name has not been used as much recently. The station is referred to more often as just Imperial/Wilmington.

For those who were at our Fest in Chicago in 2003, you may recall that at the 95th/Dan Ryan station at the southern end of the CTA Red Line, the decibel level from the traffic on the freeway that straddled the station was so loud that we could not converse with one another. Well that's what the Green Line station at Imperial/Wilmington is like as well. (It may be bad at the Norwalk station at the east end of the line as well, especially since it is located where I-105 meets I-605. So you have the traffic overhead as well. However with the latter station being an endpoint, at least there is the choice of awaiting the layover aboard the train.)

The Imperial/Wilmington station will be used a couple of times during our Sunday Fest activities, and for those who are staying in El Segundo just south of the Airport it will become a common sight for several days.
