The Phoenix City Council is looking at allocating more money and Phoenix Police officers to improve security and safety on Metro light rail and at its stations.

The council is considering a plan for Phoenix Police to spend $600,000 more on light rail security. The plan was first reported by KJZZ-FM in Phoenix. There would be more officers on bikes to patrol and respond to problems on the train.
