Washington Metrorail will close the outer end of the Red Line between Glenmont and Fort Totten from June 1 to September 1. MARC Brunswick Line service will not be affected, and all trains will operate.

We are glad to welcome Washington Metrorail passengers to MARC Train this summer. Special promotional fares are in effect now through September 1 -- a one-way ticket from Garrett Park, Kensington, or Silver Spring to Washington Union Station is only $3.00. Multi-ride fares are also discounted 50%. Trains 890, 878 and 891 will add a stop at Kensington starting on June 1.

Full information on MARC and Commuter Bus service during the WMATA closure is available at www.mta.maryland.gov/MTA-WMATA-RedLine .

Thank you for riding MARC Train.

But....   MARC's Brunswick Line is only oriented to the traditional rush periods -- that is, weekdays inbound in the morning and outbound in the evening.   No midday, counter-flow, or weekends.    There may be a market for such service during the Metro closure.   CSX might however have something to say about the extra movements.
