Labor Day Service Notification

On September 7, 2015, the Kansas City Southern Railway Company will reduce forces in observance of Labor Day.
 
Service requests for this day should be emailed to Customer Solutions by 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21st, 2015.

 

Service requests will not guarantee service on the day requested. Once all requests are received, the local operation will attempt to secure resources to perform service. If no message is received, it will be understood that no service is needed.

BNSF Intermodal 2015 Labor Day Operating Plan

 

TRAIN SERVICE

BNSF will continue to operate intermodal trains over the Labor Day holiday. However, due to lighter volumes of traffic and possible train consolidations, we anticipate that outbound and inbound shipments from Saturday, September 5, through noon on Tuesday, September 8, may experience extended destination availabilities of up to 24 hours.

 

INTERMODAL FACILITY OPERATIONS

All BNSF intermodal hubs will observe normal working hours throughout the holiday period.

 

 

 

BNSF Automotive 2015 Labor Day Operating Plan

 

TRAIN SERVICE

BNSF's Automotive 2015 operating plan for the Labor Day holiday will remain focused on meeting customers' expectations while matching operations to any reductions in traffic volumes. We anticipate that shipments originating or arriving destination on Monday, September 7, through Thursday, September 10, may experience extended destination availabilities of up to 24 hours.

 

AUTOMOTIVE FACILITY OPERATIONS

All Automotive facilities will be open during the holiday.

 

 

 

BNSF Coal 2015 Labor Day Operating Plan

 

TRAIN SERVICE

BNSF’s Coal 2015 Labor Day operating plan will remain focused on meeting customers’ expectations. Coal trains – both loaded and empty – will operate according to normal schedules.

 

 

BNSF Carload 2015 Labor Day Operating Plan

 

TRAIN SERVICE

BNSF’s Carload 2015 Labor Day operating plan will remain focused on meeting customers’ expectations while matching operations to any reductions in traffic volumes.

 

Though train service will not be curtailed due to the Labor Day holiday, BNSF will reduce yard, local and road-switch assignments at terminals on Monday, September 7, only if specifically advised by customers that service will not be needed.

 

 

BNSF Agricultural Products 2015 Labor Day Operating Plan

 

TRAIN SERVICE

BNSF’s Agricultural Products 2015 Labor Day operating plan will focus on meeting customers’ expectations throughout the holiday period, including local and switching operations, unless we are advised of customer facilities not requiring service on Monday, September 7. For BNSF shuttle train customers, Labor Day is not a shuttle holiday.
