Metra service alert 5:26 pm 2/5/19:
The National Weather Service has issued an ice storm warning for the Chicago area which is expected to adversely impact travel. The storm is expected to begin on the evening of Tuesday, Feb.5 and last until the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 6.
Metra crews and municipalities will be out salting platforms, sidewalks and parking lots overnight. We will also have extra crews in the field to address problems if they arise. On the Metra Electric Line, we will be running trains overnight in an effort to prevent ice from accumulating on the overhead wires.
Please be extra careful driving and walking, and allow yourself extra time to get to your station.
