Proper procedure for posting news items Options

I just want to remind everyone about the proper procedure to post Internet news articles from the media (newspapers, radio, television, or strictly Internet sources).

You should always cite the source. The date the article was released and the city of publication are helpful too in referencing the article. We want to comply with copyright regulations as much as we can.

Depending on the length of the article being cited, please do not quote more than one or two lines of text, certainly no more than a paragraph. Please provide a hyperlink to the article so that your fellow members can read the entire article on the Internet.

An exception to this is a press release. A press release is clearly marked as such. They can be reproduced here or anywhere else in their entirety. However, you should edit out any contacts, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, etc. that relate to the sources who put out the release. Do indicate that this is, in fact, a press release.

We want to stay within the law when it comes to copyright issues, so please do not post any articles in their entirety from any internet or other media source.
