The Record: Oil train info
IT'S HARDLY a secret that trains carrying crude oil are rumbling from north to south through eastern Bergen County. Residents see them and have protested their presence, and just last month, county officials held three days of drills on how to respond to a possible derailment.
Yet most people still don't know all that much about the trains, and that seems to be the way things will remain.
The state of New Jersey, unlike some neighboring states, is refusing to make public basic de-tails about the trains, which are operated by CSX Corp. That's unacceptable. . . .
