Metro Releases Draft EIR for Los Angeles Union Station Forecourt and Esplanade Improvement Project; Public Workshop Scheduled for September 13Friday August 11, 2017
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has released its Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Los Angeles Union Station Forecourt and Esplanade Improvement Project.
The project is planned to enhance pedestrian and bicycle access to and from Los Angeles Union Station and reestablish the connection between the station and surrounding communities. The Draft EIR analyzes all environmental areas, including aesthetics, land use, recreation, transportation and traffic, among others. Active Transportation Program grant funds that contain federal monies have been secured for the project.
The public comment period extends between August 11 to September 25. All comments should be submitted to Metro during this time either via email or U.S. mail. Members of the public can participate in a September 13 workshop to learn more about the project and register their comments or questions at that time. Public workshop details are as follows:
