Train Service Modifications due to Winter Storm Thursday April 4th
As we have been closely monitoring the impacts of today’s severe weather conditions along the Downeaster route, reports of numerous trees across the tracks and power outages are increasing. For the safety of passengers and crew we have had to make the following service changes:
- Service Modifications for today:
- Trains 683, 684, 685, 686, 688 and 1689 have been CANCELLED
- Trains 681 and 682 are operating but are experiencing delays due to trees down & power outages
- Train 687 will operate serving all scheduled stations.
- Train Delays will continue to occur due to the weather impacts on the railroad
Station buildings may be closed and/or not be staffed due to the weather but train platforms will remain accessible and allow for boarding of trains. Please plan accordingly.

- Self-modify your reservation via the Amtrak app or Amtrak.com (or call 800-USA-RAIL) if your trip has been impacted and change and cancelation fees will be waived.
- Visit Amtrak.com or download the Amtrak app for the latest information on train status
