Hurricane Henri: Current MTA Service Changes



Here's how Hurricane Henri will impact subway, bus, and commuter rail service.

We are currently tracking the progress of Hurricane Henri. The storm is expected to bring heavy rain and hurricane-force winds to parts of New York and Connecticut as early as Sunday morning.

Service Change
Sunday, August 22: Montauk Branch Train Service to be Suspended East of Patchogue as Hurricane Henri Approaches
 
An extra westbound train will depart Montauk tonight at 9:30pm, stopping Amagansett (9:49pm), East Hampton (9:54pm), Bridgehampton (10:03pm), Southampton (10:13pm) Hampton Bays (10:24pm) Westhampton (10:31pm) Speonk (10:38pm) Patchogue (11:08pm) arriving Babylon at 11:32pm, where customers can transfer for service to Penn Station & Jamaica. 
 
With Hurricane Henri tracking toward Long Island's East End, we will proactively suspend service on the Montauk Branch (east of Patchogue), following the departure of Saturday's last regularly scheduled trains. The last westbound train from Speonk departs Saturday night  at 11:57pm.  On Sunday, passenger train service won't resume until we have checked our infrastructure and determined it is safe to do so.

With Hurricane Henri tracking toward Long Island's East End, we will proactively suspend service tonight between Ronkonkoma and Greenport, following the departure of Saturday's last regularly scheduled trains. The last westbound train from Greenport departs Saturday night at 9:03pm. On Sunday, passenger train service won't resume until we have checked our infrastructure and determined it is safe to do so.

Hurricane Henri - Harlem and Hudson Service Changes, Sunday, August 22

 

Today, Sunday, August 22nd, Harlem and Hudson lines service will run every two hours and there will be no service on the Wassaic Branch because of the severe weather.

Today, Sunday, August 22nd, Service continues to be suspended on the New Haven line and Danbury/Waterbury/New Canaan branches because of Hurricane Henri. We continue to monitor the storm closely. Check MTA.info for updated schedules and real-time service information.
