Lincoln Service and Texas Eagle: Track Work Affects Service between Chicago and St. Louis
Effective on Select Dates in October 2016
As construction continues to bring 110 mph speeds to the Lincoln Service, track work will affect the Lincoln Service and Texas Eagle between Chicago and St. Louis, with alternate transportation in some cases by chartered buses.:
Lincoln Service October 6, 7 and 8, 2016
The Lincoln Service trains shown below will operate between Chicago and Springfield only on October 6, 7 and 8, 2016. Bus service will be provided in both directions between Springfield, Carlinville, Alton and St. Louis. Buses will depart earlier than the respective trains. - Thursday, October 6, 2016: Train 305
- Friday, October 7, 2016: Trains 301, 302, 303, 304, 305 and 306
- Saturday, October 8, 2016: Trains 301, 302, 303, 304, & 306
Trains 300, 301, 302 and 303 will be cancelled from Oct. 21 through Oct. 24. Alternate transportation will be provided at all stations for all trains except Train 300.

- Southbound Train 21/421 will detour between Chicago and St. Louis on the dates shown, and will not stop at Joliet, Pontiac, Bloomington-Normal, Lincoln, Springfield, Carlinville and Alton.
- Northbound Train 22/422 will operate as scheduled to St. Louis. On the dates shown above, the train will detour between St. Louis and Chicago, and will not stop at any intermediate stations. Passengers on Train 22/422 destined for Chicago will remain on the train. Passengers on Train 22/422 ticketed to stations between St. Louis and Joliet will be provided chartered buses as replacement transportation.
- Passengers requiring travel to or from Joliet, Pontiac, Bloomington-Normal, Lincoln, Springfield, Carlinville and Alton can make reservations aboard the Lincoln Service train/alternate bus service.
- Possible Delays: The Texas Eagle can encounter delays of up to 45 minutes traveling on the detour.
- Trains 321 and 322 are canceled on these dates.
