It was disappointing to note that the article did not mention Senator Durbin's strong support for re-establishing train service to western Illinois areas of Rockford and Quad Cities. After policymakers in Peoria gleefully chased Amtrak away (The Prairie Marksman), fresh thinking people have joined the sensible chorus calling for restoration of Amtrak service in Caterpillea's hometown. It helps that Caterpillar makes engines for locomotives. Sloan |
