Eagle-Tribune, North Andover, MA, 11/20/17:
UPDATE: Buses pick up passengers from derailed train, also take commuters from Haverhill station to other trains
The MBTA said that as of 9:15 a.m. Monday, several buses were at the Ballardvale commuter train station waiting to pick up passengers from train No. 208, which had a "low speed" derailment in the Ballardvale area.
The train departed the Haverhill station at 7:35 a.m. and made stops in Lawrence, Andover and Ballardvale, where it derailed just south of that stop. Ballardvale is part of Andover.
Story is here. It looks from the rider photo that this is the interlocking where the Wildcat Branch comes off the Haverhill Line, which would support some of the reports saying the incident happened between Andover and Wilmington. The latter is actually on the Lowell Line, thus only the Wildcat Branch runs between them. Therefore there is impact to the Downeasters as well.
I just checked MBTA's timetable, and yes, Train #208 usually runs via the Wildcat Branch. Its next stop would have been Anderson/Woburn.
