MARC Train - Full Service on Friday

mta_em_hdr_09_2018.jpg

1/18/2024 11:10 PM

MARC Train will operate full service on all three lines Friday morning. Brunswick Line Train 880 (the scheduled 7:45am departure from Brunswick) will depart Brunswick 90 minutes later (9:15am) to accommodate customers traveling later due to the Federal Government two hour delay. Also for Brunswick Line passengers, Train 871 (the Friday-only 1:30pm departure) will operate.

Please follow our winter weather guidelines when traveling tomorrow:

--Allow ample time to drive to the station, park your car, and WALK -- don't run -- to the train platform. Black ice is also likely on roads as you drive to your station, so leave early and allow extra travel time.

--We strongly encourage passengers to wear shoes appropriate for winter weather. Dress shoes and heels are strongly discouraged.

--MARC Facilities staff will be out treating platforms and parking lots starting at 2:00am, but given the extreme cold temperatures some spots may be still be slippery. WALK slowly and take your time.

--When boarding your train, use handrails to walk through wet or slushy areas. Despite treatment and cleaning, train stairs and floors can be slippery.

Trains may experience delays due to severe weather warnings, downed trees, and other severe weather-related issues. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding -- MARC Train, Alstom, Amtrak, and CSX Transportation's top priority is to get you to your destination safely. Further updates on service will be provided as conditions warrant.

MARC Brunswick Line - Afternoon service modifications

mta_em_hdr_09_2018.jpg

1/19/2024 10:31 AM

Due to the ongoing winter storm, Brunswick Line service will operate as follows this afternoon:

--Train 871 (the Friday-only 1:30pm departure from Union Station) will extend service to Harpers Ferry, Duffields and Martinsburg

--Train 879 (5:40pm departure from Union Station) will not operate

--The status of Frederick Tranist and EPTA connecting bus service will be determined later today and an update will be sent. However, it is very likely that there will NOT be EPTA connecting bus service from Brunswick to West Virginia stations for either Train 873 or 883 (3:30 and 7:20pm departures from Union Station). Any passengers traveling to West Virginia should plan on riding Trains 871 (1:30pm departure), Train 875 (4:25pm departure) or Train 881 (6:20pm departure).

All other trains will operate, however trains may experience delays due to severe weather warnings, downed trees, and other winter weather-related issues. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding -- MARC Train, Alstom, and CSX Transportation's top priority is to get you to your destination safely.

Further updates on service will be provided as conditions warrant. Thank you for riding MARC Train.
