Sound Transit, 2:30 pm PST 2/9/17:
Rider Alert: Sounder north line canceled due to a mudslide - 2/09/17
North line Sounder service is canceled this evening, 2/09/17, due to a mudslide. Sound Transit will monitor the situation, if there are no additional events, service is expected to resume Monday morning, 2/13/17. Regularly scheduled bus service will operate as normal and is listed below. Updates will be provided as they become available.
Tomorrow morning’s bus service for 2/10/17 will be provided this evening.

Update: We were able to obtain special bus service for tonight’s Sounder north line commute.. The special bus service along with the regularly scheduled bus service is listed below. If there are no additional blocking events service will resume 2/13/17. Please monitor www.SoundTransit.org/schedules/alerts for updates to Sounder north line service prior to your commute.
All special buses will allow pre-boarding at 5th Ave S and Weller St (facing south). They will depart from 4th Ave S and S. Jackson St at the times listed below.
Evening bus service on 2/09/17
Seattle - Edmonds: Departing 4th Ave. S. and S. Jackson at 4:05 pm 4:33 pm, 5:05 pm and 5:35 pm. Riders may also board regularly scheduled Community Transit Route 416 at 5th and James at 3:57 pm, 4:27 pm, 4:58 pm, 5:31 pm and 5:57 pm
Seattle - Mukilteo: Departing 4th Ave. S. and S. Jackson St at 4:05 pm, 4:33 pm, 5:05 pm and 5:35 pm. Riders may also board regularly scheduled Community Transit Route 417 at 4th Ave S and S Jackson St. at 3:09 pm, 3:59 pm, 4:22 pm, 4:50 pm, 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm

Landslides disrupt Amtrak service in Western Washington
SEATTLE - A significant stretch of Washington railway is shutdown. Landslides have forced BNSF to close tracks between Portland, Oregon and Everett, Washington.
All Amtrak Cascades service between Seattle and Portland is canceled, with no alternate transportation. Normally scheduled operations will continue south of Portland to Eugene, Oregon, and north of Everett to Vancouver, B.C.
BNSF Railway placed a 48-hour moratorium on the tracks. All rail traffic is suspended until Saturday.

Empire Builder and Coast Starlight service is also impacted, with no alternate transportation at this time.

Amtrak services are temporarily disrupted between Seattle and Everett, Wash. due to a landslide. BNSF Railway, which owns the tracks, has placed a 48-hour moratorium, suspending all rail traffic in the area until Sunday, Feb. 19. Alternate transportation will be provided for the Empire Builder service and Amtrak Cascades service between Seattle and Everett, with the exception of Train 513. There is no alternate transportation for Amtrak Cascades Train 513 between Vancouver and Seattle on Feb. 18 due to extreme weather conditions.
Normal rail operations continue south of Seattle to Portland and Eugene, Ore.

Late season mudslide reported. North Line Sounder (and I assume Amtrak) affected at least until Friday.
From Sound Transit:
Sounder north line special bus service information for this morning’s commute, along with the regularly scheduled bus service is listed below. If there are no additional blocking events service will resume Friday, 3/10/17. Please monitor

Evening bus service for 3/08/17 will be provided today in the early afternoon.
Due to a lack of resources there will be limited special bus service. Riders should take regularly scheduled bus service at times special buses aren’t available.
Everett – Seattle: There will be no special bus service this time leaving form Everett. Riders should take regularly scheduled bus service. ST Express route 510 departing Everett Station bay C1 approximately every 10-15 minutes.
Mukilteo – Seattle: Special buses will depart Mukilteo Station from the train platform driveway roundabout at 5:56 am, 6:26 am, 7:26 am. Riders may also board regularly scheduled Community Transit route 417 at the Ferry Terminal departing at 5:49 am, 6:21 am, 6:51 am, 7:21 am, and 7:53 am.
Edmonds – Seattle: Special buses will depart Edmonds Station in the Amtrak parking lot at 6:11 am, 6:41 am, and 7:41 am. Riders may also board regularly scheduled Community Transit route 416 at Bay 2 departing at 5:45 am, 6:15 am, 6:34 am, 6:55 am, and 7:42 am.
Everett – Mukilteo:

Amtrak officials have halted service between Seattle and Everett Wednesday afternoon, following a landslide which is covering the tracks.

Train service suspended due to landslide
Amtrak services are temporarily disrupted between Tacoma and Olympia, Wash. due to a landslide. BNSF Railway, which own the tracks, has placed a 48-hour moratorium, suspending all rail traffic in the area until Sunday, March 12. Amtrak is working to secure alternate transportation for the Amtrak Cascades and Coast Starlight service.
Normal rail operations continue south of Portland to Eugene, Ore.
