Just as a reminder, don't forget to purchase your RailRunner DayPass online. Print out the ticket and don't forget to bring it along.

Rail Runner fares are increasing effective May 21 (Day Pass increases to $11, reduced Day Pass to $8). It appears you can order print-at-home day passes now for July 19 and still get today's rates.

The new fares are shown HERE.

There are also some minor changes in the Rail Runner weekday schedule effective May 21. The new schedule is HERE.

Bill,

Yes I'm going to work on the schedule and fare changes soon... I just found out about them yesterday. I'll adjust my fares page soon and re-evaluate the itinerary.

I'm the proud owner of one of those print-at-home Day Passes, so hopefully they will still accept it having paid the lower (current) rate. If not, what's another 2 bucks?

Timetable change has been evaluated, and it won't affect us. Only the Santa Fe arrival is a minute later, something we'll hardly notice unless you were planning to use every available minute in Santa Fe. There is still more than an hour and a half to eat lunch.

Albuquerque fares page has been updated to reflect new fare structure. I left the old fares in there for now, and will remove them after May 21st. The new fares are shown in orange in the text and the table.

I sent an e-mail to a contact at RailRunner to see if and how the internet day passes purchased before the May 21 fare changes will be accepted. Either one shows the pass and it's accepted, or one shows it along with surrendering another 2 bucks. If & when I get a response, I'll share it here.

Kevin, I went tonight to try and buy them before the price increase, hopefully locking in the lower price. But it wants to know start & destination cities. Should I be selecting ABQ to Santa Fe? Or should it be Belen to Santa Fe?
Alan,

Take care and take trains!

Yes as Rick says, you should buy it for the entire distance, from Belen to Santa Fe or vice versa. It has to cover all 6 zones. Think of 2008 when we had the Fest in Florida and had a similar situation with TriRail. Although we started and ended the TriRail rides at the TriRail/MetroRail Transfer station, which is not an endpoint station, we were advised by the ticket agent to buy a DayPass covering the maximum number of zones end to end. Same here. Albuquerque is a midpoint in the system, so one needs to buy the DayPass for the maximum number of zones to allow us to ride the entire line end-to-end, which we are in fact doing in one direction. BTW no response so far from the e-mail contact at RailRunner named in their website for questions about fares.
