NS Intermodal Service Alert:

Winter Storm Grayson

Jan 03, 2018

Winter Storm Grayson is currently moving across the Southeast region of the country and based on the latest forecast the storm is expected to impact the Florida, Georgia, Carolina, and southeast Virginia regions of the Norfolk Southern network.  High winds, ice, freezing rain, and snow accumulation are expected in these areas over the next several days.

Closures
The South Carolina Ports Authority ceased operations at their Charleston terminals effective 10:00am today.

The Georgia Ports Authority ceased operations at Savannah-Garden City effective 3:00am this morning.

The Norfolk Southern Charleston facility closed at 10:00am today.

We will continue to accept shipments billed to Charleston and Garden City and advance them to destination as conditions allow. We will not be able to unload and return units once they have been loaded. All other Norfolk Southern facilities remain open at this time.

Customers are strongly encouraged to review Department of Transportation information for updates regarding local road conditions in the impacted areas. We will continue to monitor the storm and provide updates as they become available.
