Customers seeking connections to the Orange Line at Downtown Crossing are encouraged to use Park Street Station.

Shuttle Bus Locations:

Broadway Station: Customers will board and unload from shuttles buses at street level at the corner of Dorchester Ave. and Broadway

South Station: Customers traveling toward Broadway will board on Summer Street at the Bus Shelter. Customers traveling toward Kendall will board buses on Summer St. at the Federal Reserve Bank.

Accessibility:

All shuttle bus stops are accessible for persons with disabilities.

Alternate Service:

Customers can utilize the Orange Line at Downtown Crossing Station and the Green Line at Park Street Station throughout the diversion.

Walking:

When possible, customers are encouraged to consider walking as an option between South Station and Park Street Station – an approximately ½ mile walk. Google Maps directions are below.

Between Park Street and Downtown Crossing (.1 mile)

Between South Station and Downtown Crossing (.4 mile)

Between Park Street and South Station (.5 mile)

Why is this service change in place?

This service change is in place to complete the power supply from South Station to Park Street Station for the Park Street Elevator Project. The power supply will be used for the two new Park Street Station elevators. The elevators will provide access to the Westbound Green Line trains from the street level and to the Red Line platform from the Westbound Green Line platform. Also, station tile work and other necessary Red Line maintenance will be performed throughout the diversion weekend.

"Neccessary Red Line maintnence"= fixing some of the electrical lines on the line after yet another electrical fire on that part of the line. If it isn't someone ought to get fired for not including it into the schedule.
