Important Metra survey
Dear Metra Customer,
In Metra’s 2023-27 Strategic Plan, My Metra, Our Future, Metra adopted a vision statement in which we aspire to provide regional rail service. Our evolution toward a regional rail service model has already begun with the schedule enhancements implemented over the past few years, but in order to understand what shape this evolution should take on each of our rail lines, Metra initiated a Systemwide Network Plan (SNP). The SNP will identify how Metra can better serve changing travel markets with regional rail service, and it will guide Metra Capital and Operations for the next 20+ years.
Public Survey
Metra is exploring service options to better respond to your changing travel patterns and preferences. To that end, Metra is soliciting your feedback in a survey to understand more about how you use Metra now and how that may change in the future. The survey will be open through June 19, 2024.

Virtual Public Meeting
A Virtual Public meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 30 to discuss the Systemwide Network Plan in more detail. To register for the virtual public meeting and join the meeting via zoom:

Metra will also be reaching out to other stakeholders to solicit their feedback during this study, and we anticipate another round of public outreach in early 2025 to give the public and key stakeholders the opportunity to provide feedback on proposed service concepts.
